The History of Flextern
Flextern™, is owned by the dutchman Herjan Mennegat who worked closely with some of the finest designers and engineers in Holland and created one of the finest handmade lecterns that also had to be beautiful and made with meticulous care and attention to detail.
Up until now, a prototype like the Flextern™ did not exist. No lectern met all requirements and wishes of the market, nor did it meet the desires for properties and appearance as the Flextern. This was the main objective for the Flextern, to create a lectern that would meet all requirements and would be adjustable to height: for small people, tall people, but also people in a wheelchair. And a lectern that would look professionally. This type is now available: the Flextern.
The first sketches of the Flextern were made in January 2007. In November 2007 the design was ready as a first draft in 3-D. The first prototype was ready in June 2008. In total it took some 18 months to create the lectern from the first concept to a ready-to-deliver product.
A variety of Flextern™ types will be produced in the future, featuring various designs.
